why is my dish network satellite receiver freezing?
my dish network dvr satellite receiver has worked just fine for the last.....oh i don't even know how many years......and the only problems i have noticed have been an occasional glitch or two (usually a hiccup or random occurrence that is fixed with a restart). recently there has been a new problem that has been occurring with annoying frequency.
The satellite receiver decides to randomly freeze. it will freeze the image on the screen and lock the whole unit up for a a random amount of time (usually 2-10 minutes) after which the program will resume and all is well.......untill it decides to freeze again (which can occur as close as 2 min after it has just recovered or it can not do it for days)
This has bee REALLY annoying as i have been missing large chunks of anything i sit down to watch.
any help is appreciated
The hard drive in the DVR is failing or it could be something else. Whatever the case, it is the Dish Network receiver causing the problem and this is not something you can do anything about other than call Dish Network and tell them. It's their hardware and you are paying for their service. Let them fix it.
