My Honda powered lawn mower stalls after 2-3 minutes of mowing. It coughs, sputters then blows air filter off

Yes, it literally blows the air filter cover and filter off the engine. So far I have replaced the spark plug 3 times, cleaned the gas bowl, verified the gas line is not blocked, operated with and without the grass catcher bag, changed blades and drained and changed gas 4 or 5 times. Mower starts OK. Mower runs perfectly as long as you are NOT mowing grass. Mower has less than 25 hrs. of operation. Only 2 yrs. old.

Sounds like there is a problem with the intake valve not closing, or not closing all the way. Take it to a qualified mechanic and have them check compression. If there is little or no compression, you can be pretty sure it is the valve sticking.
