what type of BONE should i get for my dog?
hi ive been reading that real bones are great for dogs i have a medium sized husky lab mix. i want to get him a bone what kind of bone should i ask for at the butcher. and how should i prepare the bone? boil? raw? clean it?
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend you getting any bones from a butcher.
Simply because I'd worry about the bones breaking too easily and getting stuck in your dog's throat, or cutting it on the way down.
Go to a pet store.
Find the filled bones they have.
They have peanut butter flavored filling, bacon flavored filling, etc.
It's a real bone.
Just made safe, well.. Safer than butcher bones.
It will also keep your dog entertained.
I have a lab myself who LOVES the large filled bones.
(She previously cut the inside of her throat eating a bone off the ground)
