I want to be a fighter pilot. Please answer questions or most?

1.Im 14, when can I Inlist? Or see a recruiter?
2.Should I complete a 4 year degree at The royal military college in canada before joining the CAF or after?
3.What will help me achieve my goal? (I no fighter pilots are a very select few and its very difficult but its all i want to do.)
My dad has a private pilot licence, so he has all the flight books and he knows quite a bit about flight.
Im in Air Cadets and its possible for me to get my private pilots licence through the program.
Im in academic classes in everything in highschool.

1. You can legally join at 17, but pilots are officers, so you would not get in without the education. You can begin the processing earlier though.

2. Yes. This is the best way for a career in the military. You are far more likely to see promotions etc., as an RMC grad.

3. Work bloody hard! They pick the best and the brightest. You need to be in top physical form - eyesight, and all of that. The medical exams for pilot is pretty tough - many do not make it through.

Being an Air Cadet is great - especially if you get your pilot's licence. It will not matter hugely in the long run, but it will certainly show them you are keen, and in a tie, a cadet will win over someone without cadets.

So, be smart, fit, dedicated, and all of that. No guarantees, but that will all help.
