how do i dye my hair from dark brown with red to choc brown with blond?
Going from dark brown with red flashes to choc brown with medium blond flashes/highlights -
I will need to prelighten my hair to get rid of the red, but how should i go about doing the new colour. is it best to dye my whole head the brown after prelightening then going the blond flashes after this has developed or prelighten - put the blond in foils and then dye the brown in between? i am not sure if going all over brown the bleaching again could break all my hair?
Any useful advice would be appreciated.

Ok, so if I am right in thinking you want to ditch the dark brown for a chocolate brown & replace the red flashes with blonde... then here is what I advise.
I would leave the dark brown to fade on it's own, because putting another brown over would be pointless & wouldn't make all that much of a difference. As for the red, I would just bleach over them blonde, assuming your hair is healthy enough, & making sure the bleach doesn't run onto the brown! I would test a clipping of your red hair in some bleach before you go ahead, just to make sure you don't go bald. (I'm jokin lol) But it could snap off if you didn't check. If the hair clipping doesn't change, then you are good to go. If it disintegrates, bubbles, fizzes, heats up or changes in colour (usually a tinge of green) then this means that your hair is damaged by previous colour, and you should use conditioning treatments & products before you attmept to colour again. But as for the brown, it should fade pretty quickly, although I think the contrast between the dark brown and bright blonde would look ausum.
