Like it, love it, dislike it or hate it?
I personally love it... a truly classic anime ^.^
Great plot, sountrack, characters and more. You can feel the situation the character's in, and their emotions. It really makes you think about life.
An extremely unique and AWESOME show - I recommend it to absolutely any anime fan at all!

i have watched it through twice now, read the mangas about seven times, and watched the movies about nine time and it still confuses me at time. The fact that a futuristic society is relaying on children to fight sentient monsters is crazy. the fact that at time it seems as though Shinji has feelings for Rei when she is a clone of his own mother.......which rises this question if Rei is a clone of Shinjis mother does that make her his mother, his sister, or someone that has no relation to him.
the religious overtones I'm not going to get into, but out of ever thing one thing is for sure....
