fAre freezers in garage OK? I know refrig./freezer combos can be a problem, but how about freezers only?
We're in coastal CT and it can get cold in the winter. 20 degrees or lower.
That means, you won't be using any electricity in the winter.
If your garage is dry, and not prone to snow drifts, you should be fine. But, in the winter, your meat is going to be really hard-frozen.
When I was a kid, we used to hang meat in the garage in the winter - without a freezer. Good Gawd, who needed one - it was cold enough to keep everything solid frozen until spring....
