'Polish wax' in chicle? What is it?
I was at the store and there was chicle { the ones that are wrapped four per serving } and I was looking at the ingredients and it said there was 'polish wax' in it and I wanted to know what it might be.
Would it have any animal byproducts in it? What is it anyways?

No, I'm talking about chicle as in gum. Chewing gum.
If they don't say what kind of wax was used, there is no way anyone here is going to be able to tell you.
I do know that Carnauba wax is often used in confections, it is from palm tree and is used to shine up the outside of candy coated items as well as to make vitamins smooth for easier swallowing. It is safe as a food.
BTW - Chiclets is a brand of chewing gum - in the same shape as you describe.
