Food Decal

I would like to produce some ceramic plates with a decals decor that can be used for decoration purposes and to eat from. I know there are water side decals that work without heat sealing but those are not food-save. I think you can seal them with a clear coat but I am not sure if that will look good or is actually enough to protect the image from, say, a fork scratching over it.Those decals are available for ink jet, laser and so on.

And there are decals that you need to let others print for you that need to be heat sealed in a ceramic oven at a very high temperatue, something I can't afford.

So my question is: does something like ceramic decals for ink jet or laser printers exist, that can be heat sealed or in any other way sealed to a plate and still look good and professional?

I would have happy about any advice.
