A bag of ice cubes purchased from the store keep sticking together once I put it in the freezer.?
Our automatic ice maker line keeps freezing solid. We haven't had a chance to fix it so we purchase a 10pound bag of ice every few days and put it in the freezer. Whether we put it in the ice bin or keep it in the plastic bag, it becames a solid brick. Do you know of any thing we can do to stop this from happening? Also, if you know anything about ice makers let us know. We discovered we can still put water in the ice maker and it will make ice. Theproblem is water spills everywhere and then freezes everything solid. We probably have a blockage in the water line which is why water is not flowing fast enough and the plastic tube keeps freezing. We haven't had time to check itout. If anyone has any ideas on what else could be wrong, please let us know. We have blow dried the plastic tube but it freezes up again.
It sounds like your freezer is getting too cold. On little freezers, they have a wheel with numbers on it that lets you adjust the temperature. I don't know if regular freezers do, but if even the ice you buy is freezing together like a rock, then your freezer is probably unnecessarily cold. Sorry that I can't help, but I thought I'd at least mention that. Maybe if I star it someone else will answer and help out, because surely someone one here knows about ice makers. You could try asking in the physics section or something, too.
