What ammo should I use for my Ruger Mark III?

I just bought a ruger mark !!! the other day for my 21st birthday. I wanted to know what would be the best kind of ammo to use, and how much it will cost. Also I am new to shooting so when I go to the range will I need ear plugs and safety glasses to shoot my .22? (btw I already wear prescription glasses)
Im looking for something cheap, but wont have many misfires

Try CCI mini-mags you will like them. New Ruger 22 are tight you need to work the action some with semi-hot ammo to work it in and the CCI mini-mags will do that and wont break the bank. Plus they are copper plated to reduce build up in the bore. Lead solids are apt to build up debris and jam the gun. Use only copper plated ammo for less problems. I own all of the Ruger 22 semi-auto pistols from the standard to the 22/45. They are very well made and if kept clean will function great. But cheap ammo will foul them causing jams. After about 1000 rounds they will cycle about any 22 long rifle with out much issue. I can shoot sub-sonics in my old rugers with out jams 90% of the time.
They are very well made guns. I have a mark 2 Government Target 6 in bull barrel with a scope that can take the head off a grouse or make a eye shot on a rabbit at 20+ yards. After you break it in you will be impressed at what it can do.
The only problem is this;

It takes a bit to learn how to take it down to clean it. After that you’re good to go.
