The Community center tablecloth is 70 square feet.The dining table is 4 feet wide and 9 feet long.The tablecloth hangs over the ends of the table by 6 inches at each end.How much overhang id there on each side of the table?
Since the table is 9 feet long and there is a 6" overhang at each end, the tablecloth must be 10 feet long. That means that it must be 7 feet wide. The total overhang at the sides is therefore 7-4 = 3 feet. Half of that is 18", so there is 18" overhang on each side.
