Food ideas for a 10 month old?
My son eats solids throughout the day and night, up to 5 times a day.. ( Today he has had none, it is 3.30pm, it is stinking hot, and he is not interested, so he has had just cold milk mixed with formula.. This has kept him happy. )
Do you have any great ideas?
Here is a normal Wednesday for him -
Breakfast - 180ml sippy cup with full cream milk mixed with half formula.
- Weet bix mixed with hot water, to make them soggy, and a tin of pureed fruit to add some flavor.
Snack - A biscuit or two to munch on
Lunch - 180ml sippy cup filled with half milk half formula
- Sandwich and large tin of stage 3 food.
Dinner - Large serving of cottage pie, with extra vegies
Bedtime - 240ml bottle
Here are some foods my 10 1/2 month dd enjoys. I often do purees for her lunch as well, though she has finger foods for breakfast and dinner.
breakfast/brunch/lunch:
waffles
fruit pancakes
toast soldiers, sometimes spread with cream cheese
unflavored adult quick oatmeal (the quick oatmeal is less chunky when you make it)
scrambled eggs, or add cheese and veggies to make an "omelet"
eggs florentine (friend egg and spinach on an english muffin)
french toast
muffin pieces
cheerios and fruit (this is the thing she usually gets, but things like waffles or pancakes freeze well and reheat in the toaster, so those are pretty common too...fancier stuff only on weekends. A lot of these foods make good quick lunches too)
lunch:
grilled cheese sandwiches
cream cheese and mashed fruit as a sandwich filling
hummus on pita bread
guacamole on pita bread
cottage cheese (she _loves_ this)
yogurt with fruit chunks
tuna/ham/egg salad sandwiches
tomato slices
quiche/stratas - a great way to mix eggs and veggies, but be aware that egg whites are a common allergn, so some people don't want to give them (except in baked goods) until after 1 year
snacks:
fruit
whole wheat fig newtons
animal crackers
fruit cereal bars
graham crackers
low-salt soda crackers
string cheese
dinner:
mashed sweet potatoes (loves)
homemade mac and cheese
pasta with tomato sauce
tofu cubes
frozen mixed veggies from a bag, cooked
meatloaf/meatballs
veggie burgers
sloppy joes (hamburger in a tomatoy sauce that you can buy if you don't want to make)
pumpkin ravioli
cheese grits
chicken a la king (you can buy or make this) over rice or noodles
chicken fingers
sweet potato fries
spanish rice with cooked chicken added
mild chili
veggie nuggets (bought frozen from the organic freezer section)
fish sticks
salmon patties
eggplant parm (which she actually loves)
sticky rice
baked chicken
cooked chopped spinach
cornbread
pasta salad
baked chicken
Pretty much whatever you have having for dinner!
LOL, I think RxQueen found one of my answers to an earlier question that was similar to this, I'm flattered
