Moving out of your parents house experiences/stories..?
I'm just very interested in hearing about your experience (good or bad) of moving out of your parents house (how old you are, was it diffcult, etc.)
I'm 21 years old and I'm moving this August with my boyfriend of 4 years [dont judge me, you dont know us
] I have a full-time job at a dental office (making good money) and I work weekends at a restaurant. He also has a reliable, steady job. I've been saving since January so I have about 5 months rent saved in my account with more going in as the months roll by. Living at home has been a nightmare. My dad is a rude, angry alcoholic who has sucked the life out of my mother. I basically pay all of my expenses on my own anyway (car, gas, insurance, medical expenses) so I figure it's time to get out of there..
Like I said I would just like to know what you guys think about this and what you went thru. Hhanks
and sorry for the long question!
Reading this reminded me of myself about ten years ago, although I was 20 when I moved out of my parents home. It will be a lot different, you will realize you have a lot more responsibilities and things may get stressful. You will also get to know your boyfriend VERY well (this may not be so great all the time)! lol.. but in the end its SO WORTH IT. It's not like your some 17 year old with a job at Burger King and no education trying to move out. You seem very independent and smart. I also moved in with my boyfriend and we've been married for 7 years now
So dont let ANYONE judge you!
Moving out is about experience. Its going to happen eventually and you seem to have a great head on your shoulders. You'll learn how to budget expenses and you WILL become extremely independent (its not a choice, it WILL happen!)
I hope the best for you
Take care sweetheart.
