False accusations?
Okay so here's the story...my husband worked last night and a lady apparently lost her purse yesterday. She swears she left it at my husbands job but no one ever found it! Today he went into work and they are making him sign a statement and his boss is now accusing him of stealing the purse. My husband never saw this purse, no one witnessed my husband stealing the purse let alone touch it, and there are no cameras any where in this store. So there is no proof what so ever that my husband stole the purse. Can they accuse him of stealing this purse? Isn't it against the law to accuse and employee of stealing something with no evidence? Please someone help my husband wants to quit and we have a lot at stake here! Thanks for your answers!
I want real answers not crap like welcome to America!
Yes, Damn right they can not accuse him of stealing the purse. He needs to contact Loss Prevention or General Manager to get this resolved. You can also call a lawyer and take legal action. They can not fire him nor accuse him of this. Tell him NOT to quit. That will make it look like he did steal it. I can only imagine how uncomfortable he feels working in a atmosphere like that. Maybe they are looking for a reason to let him go and this is the way........ Best bet is to talk to a lawyer or someone with a legal background. Bottom Line ....They can not accuse him or you can sue them.
