How do I get my bf to appreciate the things I do for him?
I do a lot to help him out with his new business and we have been getting ready for the grand opening. We stayed up really late working on stuff for the next day. I was supposed to get up and go do something for him that morning and then go to work. I woke up late (he wasn't up either) and forgot that I had to go do it. I said I was really sorry and even offered to take off work to go do it. He told me that sorry wasn't good enough and he would just find someone else to do it that wanted to. I feel like all the things i do go by the wayside as soon as i forget one thing. and i can't remember the last time he said thank you or did something for me
If he's stressed out, it'd be easy for him to forget to thank you. He just sees that things need to get done, and it doesn't entirely matter who does it.
But this is something that you need to talk to him about, because he really might not realize how he's treating you -- especially starting a new business, his mind is most likely entirely occupied with that.
So try to understand where he's coming from, but he needs to also understand and see your point of view. He won't be able to do that unless you let him know. But try to do it in a calm and non-nagging way as he's probably very stressed already. Also, you shouldn't make it seem like you're doing him all these favors; in other words, don't try to guilt-trip him. That'll just make the situation worse. Very calm and mature, and he should be able to respond to you in the same manner.
