Suggestions for wearing shoes with sunburned feet?

I'm an idiot and didn't put sunblock on my feet yesterday and now have a nasty painful sunburn on the tops of my feet from toes to mid-shin.

I'm slathering as much aloe on them as possible, have tried tea bags and will do cool cloths today as well. I'm also pregnant and can only take Tylenol which I hear doesn't do much.

But I go back to work tomorrow and am extremely worried about wearing shoes. These burns are extremely painful although I fortunately did not blister. They are just really dark red with tight skin.

Any suggestions on what I can do? I was tempted to wear the same sandals I wore when I burned so at least the fabric/shoe material will line up with my unburnt skin but I was really hoping someone had something better. Gauze? Socks? Help!

Ya thick socks and maybe a shoe that is bigger. Tea won't help, but if you have the option at work, take off those shoes, but leave the socks on. Maybe bring a very thin extra pair to sit under your desk with. Until tomorrow, prop your feet up & apply Noxema cream after it's sat in the fridge for a bit. Tell the boss or supervisor what has happened. If they are understanding, they won't say much. We all have burned our feet like that. I have several times.
