Music, race, and steriotyping... your thoughts?
Why is it that when a white person wants to listen to Rap music people laugh at them about it because many Rap fans are not white when Rock fans welcome people of any race with open arms and don't make fun of them just because many fans are white?
This isn't a racist question!
I'm half white and half Hispanic!
I'm not discriminating. It's real matter.
I often hear people saying "That white boy listens to rap HAHA!"
but you never, ever hear someone cracking a joke because a Black person is listening to Rock.
I disagree. True Rock fans have never made up mean names for colored Rock fans. Unlike Rap fans who made up words like like "wigger' or "wangster" for white people who listen to Rap.
Cooler- We're not talking about the past. We're not talking about the consumers of Rap music.
Our main evidence is names like "wangster" and "wigger".
And maybe Black Rock fans do get crap about it, but definitely not (usually) from their fellow Rock fans.
Where I'm from, there are huge amounts of white guys who are even more into the hip hop culture than I am...and there's a whole crew of balck skaters and bikers who pump nothing but alternative and rock...even house music. Don't feel that the way it is in your neighbourhood is the way it is everywhere. Listen to what you want...ignore the haters.
