Legally, how many hours can a restaurant expect a salaried chef to work?
My fiance, a sous chef, had to fill in for his ex. chef and worked 115 hours in 7 days. He is consistantly putting in 12-16 hour days and being called in early. Does anybody know if in the state of Florida this is even legal?
I believe labor laws are for the most part nationally regulated.
Salaried employees can be expected to work 16 hours per day, 7 days per week with no legal repercussions to the employer, and no additional benefits to the employee.
